So much to do and so little time

I am so behind on video tutorials.

And blogging.

And pattern development.

It seems like the summer just magically got away from me some how. I keep looking at the calendar, and I’m dumbfounded that it is the end of July and I go back in the classroom next week. Technically, I’ll be back in the school building this week, but officially (and for contract purposes) it will be August 4th.

I thought I was getting things accomplished in a timely manner, but then I received the deadlines for my certificate renewal timeline, and I hit panic mode. Two weeks after the start of the new school year, I have a list of items that have to be submitted before my first observation, and a ton of items to be submitted after an observation. All that on top of SLOs and meetings and PLCs and oh my!

So I stepped back from this business to get ready for my teaching career and have all of my templates ready to plug in the information I need. Too bad sewing isn’t my primary job! I would rather be sewing, but I do love teaching, too!

The goal tomorrow is to get my tutorials ready and the patterns I’m currently drafting ready for the next step. I should have new patterns coming out in August, and my videos should be uploaded to YouTube by the end of the month. After I’m caught up, I’m going to try to focus on a pattern plus tutorial once a month. Generally blogging is completed and scheduled 2 times a month, but time got away from me. I think much of my energy was spent last month. I had a mild heart attack at the end of the month, and I had no clue how much it could zap your energy. For a quick run down of that, just know I found out I had a hereditary heart defect that I knew nothing about and being dehydrated triggered the heart attack (which I was told could have been much worse had I ignored it). It seems that dehydration puts more stress on your heart which triggers an obstruction in my heart and starts a downward spiral. The key is staying hydrated, so I always have a bottle of water on me at all times.

Anyhow, I promise to get back to the grind and a regular schedule by next month.
